Day 1 Airport -KANDY

On arrival at the Bandaranayake International Airport, you will get your first taste of warm Sri Lankan hospitality. A representative from NKAR TRAVELS & TOURS will welcome you at the airport and transfer you to the Hotel in Kandy.

En-route visit Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage / Herbal & Spice Gardens.

Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage App. 55 miles from Colombo, off the Colombo - Kandy road is Pinnawela, where an orphanage was started in 1975 to house the abandoned and the wounded elephants. The best time to visit is the feeding time from 1330-1400 hrs. and the bathing time from 1400-1430 hrs. when all the elephants are taken to the river close by.

Visit Herbal and Spice Gardens.

Spice Garden - Sri Lanka has long been renowned for its spices. Since ancient times, traders from all over the world who came to Sri Lanka brought their native cuisines to the island, resulting in a rich diversity of cooking styles and techniques. Sri Lankan people use spices liberally in their dishes and typically do not follow an exact recipe. When visit a spice garden, there are many on the road from the Cultural Triangle to the Hill Country. Here you will learn about Fragrant clove, cinnamon, cardamom, nutmeg, mace and pepper, and many other favorites such as chocolate and vanilla.

Afterwards proceed to Kandy.

Kandy the popular charming hill capital of Sri Lanka is surrounded by hills, valleys, rivers, lakes and waterfalls. It is the cultural center of the island and a UNESCO heritage city. The sacred tooth relic of Lord Buddha is enshrined at the Dalada Maligawa, the temple of the tooth. While in Kandy, a visit to the Royal Botanical Gardens is a must where you can see around 4000 species of plants. The arts and crafts center in Kandy, the main Buddhist monasteries Malwatta and Asgiriya Monasteries are places that must be visited. Kandy is a great place for souvenir shopping and to learn about its rich culture and history.

Day 2 KANDY-CITY TOUR-KANDY

Breakfast from Hotel. Commence Kandy City Tour.

Visit Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic.

TEMPLE OF THE TOOTH RELIC - ever since 4th Century A.D, when the Buddha’s Tooth was brought to Sri Lanka hidden from sacrilegious hands in an Orissan princess’ hair, the Relic has grown in repute and holiness in Sri Lanka and throughout the Buddhist world. It is considered Sri Lanka’s most prized possession.

In the evening Gem Gallery followed by Cultural Show.

Free passes to the cultural show to be collected during gem shop visit.

Kandy Cultural Show experiencing new cultures and traditions is one of the reasons why people travel, and this show is the personification of this noble pursuit. The Kandy Cultural Center hosts this extravaganza, with the various components of Sri Lanka’s rich and diverse cultural history all on display. Art forms throughout the country take center stage, with fire and demon dancers stealing the show and your breath. Traditional drummers and Kandy dancers complete the mesmerizing hour-long show; a treat for locals and tourists alike.

Day 3 KANDY-BENTOTA

Breakfast from Hotel. Check-out. Transfer from Kandy to Bentota.

En-route visit Peradeniya Botanical Gardens.

Peradeniya Botanical Garden is situated in the Central Province of Sri Lanka and visited approximately 02 million people annually. The unusual name is Sinhalese translation of guava plain. The garden is notable for its collection of a variety of Orchids. It is home to various species of plants, spices, medicinal plants and palm trees. It is also one of the largest botanical gardens of Sri Lanka, an artificial lake with water plants including giant water lily and papyrus seeds is found in the centre of the garden.

On completion proceed to Bentota.

Bentota – The name of the town is derived from a mythical story which claims a demon named 'Bem' ruled the tota or river bank. Bentota is famed as the prime beach resort of the south-western and southern coastal belts of Sri Lanka. South of the city of Colombo, The Beruwela Bay Beach that is found just before reaching Aluthgama at the Bentota Bridge and Bentota Bay Beach just over the bridge are the most popular twin beaches along the coast. The coast towards the further South too is replete with lovely topical beaches making it ideal for a perfect beach holiday with the sun and sand.

Day 4 Bentota-GALLE-BENTOTA

Breakfast from Hotel. Proceed to Madhu River Boat Ride & Turtle Hatchery.

MADU RIVER – 915-hectare Madu Ganga Estuary is connected by two narrow channels to the Randombe Lake, forming a complex wetland system encompassing 64 mangrove islets. In the year 2000, International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN) undertook a detailed biodiversity survey of the region & revealed the existence of no less than 10 major wetland vegetation types supporting over 300 plant species & 248 species of vertebrates. This remarkable diversity has led to its being classified under RAMSAR Convention on Wetlands in 2003.

TURTLE HATCHERY - Where you can see five species of turtles-Green Turtles (Chelonia mydas), Hawksbill Turtle (Eretmochelys imbricata), Loggerhead Turtle (Caretta caretta), Leatherback Turtle (Dermochelys coriacea) and Olive Ridley Turtle (Lepidochelys olivacea). The eggs collected by the Villagers and Fishermen are purchased by the Hatchery and kept in sandy pens until they are hatched. The newly hatched ones are kept in seawater tanks and released to the sea in the night. This Hatchery alone has released more than 1,750,000 young turtles to the sea. An endowment by the Hasselblad Estate was responsible for the establishment of this hatchery.

Afterwards proceed to Galle and commence City Tour.

Galle the beautiful colonial town along the Southern Coast of Sri Lanka is a city that cannot be missed. Galle is popular for the 300-year-old fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The 36-hectare fort was built by the Dutch in 1663, surrounded on three sides by the ocean. The streets within the fort are crammed with colonial remnants from the Dutch clock tower, Reformed church and the commander's house to the British coat of arms on the outer wall. You can enjoy the beautiful colonial architecture, visit the Galle Maritime Museum, the Galle lighthouse, Bodhi tree and the reclining Buddha Statue in the temple. Galle is home to a cricket ground, the Galle International Stadium which is considered to be one of the most picturesque cricket grounds in the world.

Dutch Fort at Galle, close to the island’s southernmost point, 173km from Colombo, has the distinction of being the best-preserved sea fort in South Asia. A living heritage site, this 90-hectare (222 acre) attraction is a superb blend of architecture, with fortifications that resemble those in the coastal areas of Portugal. The Dutch and the English colonial styles are evident in the deep verandahs of houses supported by timber or masonry pillars. Originally established by the Portuguese in the 16th Century.

Day 5 BENTOTA-COLOMBO

Breakfast from Hotel. Check-out. Transfer from Bentota to Colombo.

The busiest place in Sri Lanka is Colombo, the commercial capital of the country. Colombo is a beautiful city with modern high-rise buildings amidst old colonial ones making it a picturesque place. Colombo offers a lot for the tourists including the National Museum and the Zoological Gardens in Dehiwala which are worth a visit. Galle Face Green in Colombo, the favourite hangout spot for locals and tourists alike overlooking the beautiful Indian Ocean and surrounded by tall beautiful buildings. Viharamaha Devi Park with tall flowering trees which bloom during April is a quiet serene place in the middle of the busy city. Colombo is also a shopper’s paradise with posh shopping malls and the famous Pettah market.

Day 6 COLOMBO-CITY TOUR & SHOPPING-COLOMBO

    Cancellation charges per person will be applicable as follows:

  • If cancellation is made any time not less than 16 days prior to departure, 20-30% of Package Cost shall be deducted.
  • If cancellation is made 15 to 07 days prior to departure, 50-60% of tour cost shall be deducted.
  • If cancellation is made 06 to 03 day prior to departure, 75-85% of tour cost shall be deducted.
  • In case passenger is no show at the time of departure, 100% of tour cost shall be deducted.
